News flash, it looks like rain tonight. Ditto for tomorrow. Saturday and Sunday as well, I think. I believe I speak for us all when I say…ENOUGH ALREADY!! But alas, as much as I’d like to, I cannot control the weather, so it is what it is, or, more correctly, it will be what it will be. But what I can control is what might tempt you to come join us this weekend for some tasty food and wine. Our features will be Arctic Char, Blue Marlin and Beef Short Ribs. Oh, and some Veal and Chicken and Shrimp and Clams & Mussels and Calamari and Pasta and Eggplant and…..you get the idea. We’d love to see ya’!
The features on our wine board are staying pretty much the same this week, although our supply of the Nebbiolo from Rivetti and the Washington State red blend from TATI are nearly gone. There is plenty of Cabernet from Joel Gott and Siena from Ferrari-Carano, both of which have been with us for a long time and I keep because of their quality and value. But in the wings awaits an old friend, a red blend from Spain with an alphabet name. Just saying. Last week I extolled the virtues of rose wine, especially this time of year, and to the rose from St. Roch from Provence, which is a blend of Grenache and Cinsault, I have added another French rose, La Remise de la Mordoree, which hails from a region to the west of Provence. This rose is a blend of Merlot and Marselan, which in itself is a hybrid blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. This wine is excellent, and please bear in mind that these wines are DRY WINES. Yes, they are pink, but they are DRY, and should work well with our
menu. Enlarge your tent, try a rose…you might be surprised.
We hope you are well and survived the deluge of water this past week. I know many homes had issues this week with the storms, and we hope you and yours are intact. Thank you for all your support, rain or shine, and we hope to see you soon.
