It sure seems like summer, non? It is nice to see – and feel, although the kitchen has been a little tight recently – after the monsoons we’ve recently experienced. It looks like perfect – let me repeat, perfect – weather to head out this weekend for some good food and wine. Like, for instance, Fratello’s, when we will be featuring North Atlantic Halibut, Wild King Salmon, and Certified Angus Beef Porterhouse. It’s going to be a wonderful weekend, with probably a cookout thrown in there somewhere, so we hope you join us. We’d love to see ya’!
Our wine features continues to be the Cab from Joel Gott, Locations E from Spain, the excellent Sangiovese blend from Santa Cristina and the also excellent red blend from Australia, Quartage from Thorne-Clark/Shotfire. These are all excellent wines. I have also added the white blend from Conundrum, made by the same family that brings us the wines from Caymus. I also urge you to consider the Bordeaux I recommended last week from Chateau Hourtin-Ducasse, and for something different I suggest you try the red blend from the Douro region of Portugal, Po de Poeira. Portugal offers far more wines than Port, and on the up and coming in may wine enthusiasts eyes, including mine. As I have said before, it is often good to venture beyond one’s comfort zone.
Thanks for all your continued support. I hope you all have a safe and happy Memorial Day, and let us all applaud and thank all those many men and women, today and in the past, who have supported us and ensured the lives we are able to live. Thank you all, and I wish you well.
PS GO TRIBE!!!
