It sure has been a bit of a ride this year so far, non? It seems like it’s getting a bit nicer out, then wham! – more snow and cold. It looks like we’re in for some rain soon, then to get warmer, then who knows. But if you cannot count on the weather, perhaps you can count on a nice meal, some good wine and good companionship (i.e. this is on you, buy we could help you out) at Fratello’s. This weekend, for instance, we are featuring Hake Fish from the South Atlantic and #1 grade Tuna, both are excellent for the Lenten season, along with Certified Angus Beef Delmonico Steak, perfect for all seasons. And there will be some veal and clams and mussels and eggplant and pasta and chicken and calamari and shrimp…as well – we’d love to see ya’!
Our feature wine board is about to change as the Lucilla Tuscan blend and Malbec from Mendoza are nearing the end of their run, but we have other wines in the wings awaiting their place. These include two other wines from the Bolgheri region of Tuscany, and a Zinfandel and Pinot Noir from Highway 101 from California. This label takes grapes from a variety of vineyards throughout the state, although all are close to the iconic highway that extends from north to south along the whole state, and we have a Zinfandel from Amador County and a Pinot Noir as well. These wines are sourced from prestigious vineyards and are reflective of their vineyard and region, and a good value. Also, last week I suggested you consider a Grenache wine to enjoy with your meal, and I neglected to mention Abstract from Orin Swift, another excellent wine from Dave Phinney. Both Abstract and Palermo, a Cabernet based blend also from Orin Swift, have released their new 2012 vintage, and we still have some 2011 available. Lastly, I have added a new draft beer to our taps based on feedback from patrons and employees (okay, mostly employees). Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, which is an excellent IPA for you to enjoy.
Thanks for your continued support throughout the ups and downs of Mother Nature, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
