I hope everyone had a very nice Thanksgiving, surrounded by family and friends to share the day with and enjoy an excellent meal. I am sure some of you may be a bit stuffed even today, but I am hoping I can convince you to forgo your leftovers (if there are any) a day or so and consider another dining option this evening and weekend. We will not be featuring Turkey Tetrazzini this weekend, but rather Black Grouper, Red Snapper, Smoked Duck and Boneless Beef Short Ribs, along with the other Fratello fare you know and (hopefully) love as well. Leftovers, as good as they are, will wait another day or two, and this gives you another option. Besides, let us do the cooking for you today, we’d love to see ya’.

Our wine features include the Cabernet from Joel Gott, the excellent red blend from Dave Phinney, Location E, the tasty Oregon Pinot Noir from Expressions 44, and the Nero d’Avola from Sicily, which offers great fruit and works very well with our menu. Last week I also added the 1907 Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina, which offers a more retrained style of Malbec in a medium bodied, more elegant style than many other Malbecs out there. This Malbec has been very highly rated, and is good either on its own or with our menu. I also have a new Pinot Nero (i.e. Pinot Noir) from Italy for you to enjoy, which is limited and not yet on our list. This wine, 3309 from Monsupello, comes from the Lombardy region of north central Italy, and is different from any other Pinot Noir I have tried recently, from wherever they may come from. This wine is in the more traditional European style, by which I mean more restrained fruit, has medium to full body, and an elegance that works very well
with a meal. The wine is from 2001 but still drinking very well, and was formally much more expensive, yet we can offer it at $32 a bottle. I urge you to try this wine, it was my Thanksgiving wine, and we have a limited supply. Besides, it is fun to try different wines, and this really is a different Pinot Noir.

We are reminded, often, especially this time of year, and especially this week, how very thankful and fortunate we are for many things, especially the support and friendship you have shown us the nearly 21 years that we have been here. We are very grateful. We hope you are well and you enjoyed your holiday, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
