Ahhh, sometimes one looks fondly on the “good old days”, like last week when the temps were warm but not brutal. Today, and yesterday, and probably tomorrow as well, brutal seems to be making a comeback. Some might even suggest it’s too hot to cook. But alas, perhaps to the chagrin of our cooking crew, we will be cooking this weekend at Fratello’s, preparing some nice specials so you can keep your kitchen cool. Like St. Louis Ribs, Copper River Sockeye Salmon, and Jumbo Sea Scallops. No need to warm up your home, come join us this weekend, we’d love to see ya’!
The wine front has been rather tame during this holiday week, and we continue to feature the Cab from Joel Gott, the Sangiovese blend for Sonoma by Ferrari-Carano, Siena, the red from Portugal, Confidencial Reserve, and the red from Italy, Vino Rosso di Montepulciano, a medium bodied red that works well with our menu. When it is hot out during the summer I often turn to a Rose to enjoy with a meal, and we have several Roses on hand for you to enjoy. Keep in mind that although a rose is a pink wine it is not a sweet wine. The roses we have on our wine list are from France, and they are all dry wines and to my mind perfect for the summer. Just a thought. Among the fun things about enjoying wines is trying something new, perhaps away from your comfort zone. I urge you to give them a try.
I hope you are staying cool during these warm days. Thanks for your continued support, hot days or not. Take care, and we hope to see you soon.
