Hope you enjoyed our spring, what there was of it? I know it is still technically spring, and the colors on the trees are not yet the deep green more typical of summer, but it sure feels like summer already. Especially in our kitchen. And Memorial Day, which is fast approaching, is the unofficial start of summer, or so they say. So I say, let’s run with that, let’s get into the summer frame of mind – you know, get out, have some fun, and enjoy some fine food and wine. Well, that’s what summer means to me anyway. We at Fratello’s are here for you and we can help you. Our features this weekend will be Certified Angus Beef Strip Steaks, Chilean Sea Bass and Stripped Marlin. So I think we can help you on the food part.
We can help you on the beverage part as well. Our wine feature board continues with the Cab from Napa from Joel Gott, the Sangiovese blend from Ferrari-Carano from Sonoma, Siena, and the interesting red blend from Rubus from Australia, Proprietary Red. This week I added a 2011 red wine from Andis from Amador County, Painted Fields. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah. It is a rich, medium to full bodied red, fairly complex for the price, and works well with our menu. FYI in the wings I have several other reds waiting their turn to join the board, so I am confident we have a wine for you to enjoy. As for beer, as it is a bit on the warm side out there, we continue to pour on draft the Headhunters IPA, which many like this time of year. Enjoy.
We hope you are well and enjoying our good weather fortune, and we hope to see you soon. I know the Cavs are doing their thing tomorrow – hopefully really doing their thing – but remember we are here for you and them and we will be rooting them on. Thanks for all your support, it is truly appreciated. Take care.
P.S. As we hope you will be doing, we will be enjoying the Memorial Day holiday with our families and friends. Be safe, enjoy your holiday, and we hope to see you soon.
