Weekend Specials

I’m glad the weather folks dropped the ball today re:rain all day as I was starting to feel all Northwestern. I have been up there several times, and although it is one of my favorite parts of our country what we do not want to replicate is the weather in Seattle, at least in the spring, although it seems like we have been doing that recently. But what Seattle does have is fine restaurants, and we would like to convince you that there are some fine restaurants in our neck of the woods as well. Take Fratello’s, for example, when we will be featuring this weekend Certified Angus Beef Delmonico Steaks, Black Grouper and Swordfish, along with all the Fratello “specials” that have sustained us these 23 years and counting – you know, Chicken and Veal and Shrimp Fratello, Veal Salt, all the Parms, the mussels & clams & pasta & calamari &….you know. We hope you have a chance to visit, we’d love to see ya’!

I have tasted several new wines recently that I think are worthy of our wine board, so one can expect some new wines in the coming weeks. We are still running with the Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre red blend from Yangarra from Australia, and the red wine from Portugal, Confidential Reserve, went so well that I ordered another case this week. They join our standbys, the Cab from Joel Gott from Napa and the Sangiovese blend from Sonoma by Ferrari-Carano, Siena, which we have featured for some time now because they offer both quality and value. Fairly new in our program is an amazing Pinot Noir from Oregon from Alloro and a Cab/Syrah blend from Sonoma from Palmeri. Lastly, I want to remind you of the other wines from Portugal that are on our list. These wines also offer quality and value and I urge you to consider them. Remember, one of the best things about wine is trying and discovering new wines.
