Well, I guess it was too good to last. The Fall has been amazing thus far, warm & clear days, decent sleeping weather, just like we wish for every year but seldom get. Today, not so much, just a raw kind of day. Now we all know it sure could be worse – let’s hope not, at least not quite yet – but you know this kind of day is good for something. What, you might ask, and I would reply that these type of days are just about perfect to enjoy a nice, cozy meal and a tasty glass, or bottle, of wine. Like, for instance (surprise, surprise!) at Fratello’s, when this weekend we will be featuring Boneless Beef Short Ribs, #1 Yellowfin Tuna, and fresh Halibut for your dining pleasure. We cannot do much about what is happening outside, but inside Fratello’s I think we can offer you a good time. We’d love to see ya’!

On our wine board as I mentioned last week I have added the Cabernet/Merlot blend from Bordeaux by Chateau Le Bourdieu, available by the bottle or by the glass. This wine is a 50/50 blend, so one could just as well say it is a Merlot/Cabernet blend, and it offers a taste of Bordeaux at a very reasonable price point. This wine joins the Cab from Joel Gott, the Sangiovese based blend, Siena, from Ferrari-Carano, and the Zinfandel blend from Lodi from Rare Breed, Black Blend. And if these don’t tempt you I am confident we have something on our list you would enjoy. Remember, one can always take your wine home if you do not finish it at the restaurant.

The newly established Fratello’s Wine Club is alive and well and open for membership, which a number of you, our loyal patrons, have joined already. To recap the details, I will choose three bottles of wine three or four times a year that you will pick up at the restaurant. The wines will be mostly red but there will be whites and roses as well, depending on what I taste, and they will not be limited by geography, country or varietal. I can give you more details at the restaurant, and one can join any time, but one must join by Thanksgiving to receive the first release, planned for early December. I think it will be a lot of fun, and interesting as well as we proceed. Thanks to all of you who have joined already!

Remember that we have started to take reservations for our annual New Year’s Eve Celebration. We have three seatings at 5:30, 7:30 and 9:30, and we take reservations for all size parties (i.e. even a deuce). It is always a good time, and we’d love for you to join us.
