I know we are in the Fall season, but isn’t it nice that it seems to be like Summer today? One could get used to this, non? Windows open, sun’s out, mostly clear day, all good. But alas we all know that things can change pretty quickly around here – sometimes too quickly – and what probably lies around the corner. But for now it is just perfect to take advantage of our good fortune and head out for some good food & wine. Like, just saying, at Fratello’s, when this weekend we will be featuring Maryland Wild Stripped Bass, Pacific Halibut and Beef Funghetto. We’d love to see you, so consider joining us.
On our wine board I have made a few changes. Shatter, the Grenache wine from France made by Californians Joel Gott & Dave Phinney, is getting very limited and we only have a few bottles left before I move on. I have added to our board the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Cabernet Franc blend from Washington, The Reveler. I continue to be impressed with this vineyard and the wines produced in the northwest. Oregon is best known for their wonderful Pinot Noir, which is made in the style of wines from Burgundy, France, the real home of Pinot Noir, and we have several Pinots from Oregon on our wine list for you to enjoy. Washington is not Pinot country, better known for their Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah wines. We have wines from Washington for each of these varietals, and The Reveler is an excellent wine and a very good value. This vineyard also make a higher end Syrah which is also on our list by the bottle, and it is one of the best Syrahs I have ever tasted from this region. Give
them a try, I think you will be impressed.
Our Italian Wine Dinner featuring wines from Piedmont is this Sunday, and there is still room available if you wish to join us. Dinner starts at 6 and we should conclude by 8:30. Call me if you are interested in joining as we are in the final stages of our preparations – i.e. getting the food & wine. It should be a good time.
Thanks for all your continued support. We hope you are well and enjoying our good fortune outside, and perhaps will consider joining us inside this weekend. Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
